ABUJA — The Federal Government has revealed that 1.8 million Nigerians are currently in the digital skills pipeline of the Three Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme as it enters its scale-up phase, the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, announced on Tuesday.

Tijani highlighted the achievements of the pilot phase, which trained over 135,000 Nigerians across three cohorts and extended learning resources to more than 300,000 additional learners through community platforms. The programme also created 15,000 job opportunities and career pathways nationwide.

He noted that the current pipeline of 1.8 million Nigerians positions the government to achieve its broader goal of equipping three million citizens with in-demand digital skills.

“As we enter the scale-up phase of the programme, our focus is on deepening impact by strengthening the alumni community, expanding access to opportunities, and ensuring skills translate into real outcomes,” Tijani said.

The minister also announced the #3MTTImpactChallenge, inviting fellows and partners to share their experiences and highlight how the programme has influenced their professional journeys.
