HAMMONDSVILLE — The second annual Fall Crawl ATV and UTV Ride took place Saturday to benefit the restoration of the historic Pine Grove Schoolhouse.
Over 200 ATV riders traveled over 50 miles on scenic fall trails to raise money to restore and renovate the school house located on Township Road 289 in Hammondsville and convert it into a community space that can be used for birthday parties and other events.
The schoolhouse which was built in the 19th century along with the church it accompanies across the road. The church’s first services were held in the schoolhouse in 1833 – the same year it was built. The church itself was later built in 1884.
The fundraising event included breakfast, the ride, food trucks, a raffle and auction.
“I want to thank every small business, every participant and everyone who pitched in to make Pinegrove Church’s Fall Crawl a success,” said organizer John Crawford.
Over $11,000 was raised during the ride.
