The governor of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), Giorgos Pitsilis, presented the new multi-annual plan (MAP) during the plenary session of TADEUS – the Assembly of the Tax Administrations of the European Union – held in Copenhagen on Wednesday.
The MAP sets out the future strategic priorities for European tax administrations, aiming to strengthen cooperation and modernize tax systems across the EU.
According to the presentation, the plan is built around three key pillars: digital transformation – harnessing new technologies, developing shared and interoperable IT infrastructures, and enhancing digital skills within tax administrations; taxpayer compliance – promoting voluntary compliance and public trust, addressing the complexity of EU tax rules, and aligning national systems with European initiatives; and implementation of EU tax policy and legislation – ensuring greater consistency and effectiveness in the application of common tax rules across member-states.
