NEW BETHLEHEM – Redbank Valley Public Library recently announced the opening of its new Digital Learning Lab on site at their building in New Bethlehem.

The Digital Learning Lab will be open to the public and will feature new laptops, internet access, and both instructor-led and self-paced digital skills training.

“The new digital tools and trainings will be a valuable addition to the resources we already offer at Redbank Valley Public Library, and will help people build the confidence and skills they need to thrive in the digital age,” said library director Evanne Gareis. “In today’s world, access to the internet and digital devices isn’t a luxury — it’s a necessity. Whether it’s for education, finding a job, upskilling or accessing healthcare services, being online can open doors to opportunities. We’re thrilled to be able to offer this resource for our community.”

The Digital Learning Lab project is powered by KINBER (www.KINBER.org), a statewide digital access and opportunity nonprofit. KINBER was awarded the laptops through a COVID-19 ARPA Digital Connectivity Technology Program grant financed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Broadband Development Authority (PBDA).

“KINBER’s Digital Access and Support Hubs Initiative is designed to support the strengthening of local economies and support systems,” said Nathan Flood, president and CEO of KINBER. “We’re not just providing our partners with laptop and internet access but with best practice digital skills training to provide them and the residents they serve with a complete approach to digital opportunity.”

The Digital Learning Lab at Redbank Valley Public Library opens on Dec. 15, and will be accessible during library operating hours, and staff will be available to provide resource guidance and support to community members.
