Students at Khalid bin AlWalid Elementary School for Boys begin each morning with eager anticipation — not just for classes, but for the arrival of a special guest: a robot that joins them for the morning assembly, bringing energy and fun to the start of the day.

After its lively debut, the robot returns during recess, touring the school grounds and interacting with students.

The innovative creation is the work of classroom teacher Maryam Mohammed Al Bastaki, who developed the robot as part of efforts to integrate technology into school activities.

The initiative supports the Ministry of Education’s Digital Empowerment Program, which aims to enhance students’ digital skills and technological engagement.

According to Teacher Maryam, the robot is powered by an AI system and connected to a tablet for control.

Interactive learning experiences

It can deliver school radio segments, host student competitions, respond to questions, and engage with students throughout the day — transforming routine school events into interactive learning experiences.

She highlighted the positive impact the project has had on students, noting that the robot contributes to a fun, motivating atmosphere that encourages curiosity and fosters technical skills. The school now plans to develop and expand the project further, recognising its success in making education more engaging, accessible, and enjoyable Students delighted by innovative robotics project for young learners.
