Badger High students learn digital skills in yearbook class with Badger Braves News
VERNON TWP., Ohio (WKBN) – Yearbook students at Badger High School are learning what it takes to produce digital content.
The students are not only responsible for creating the annual publication but also creating a weekly Badger Braves News video, which is posted to the district’s YouTube channel and sent out to school families.
It highlights upcoming events, recaps of what happened during the week and even includes interviews.
First News Trumbull County Reporter Nadine Grimley stopped by to speak with the class and answer questions.
“It’s a lot of help learning from like a professional, somebody who does this for a job versus like, this is 50 minutes every day, only five days a week, so we get… to do the bare minimum, but like learning where it can go and what it can do for us in life is really cool,” said sophomore Isabella Bailey.
This is only the second year that the class has produced Badger Braves News.
The students say they enjoy making the videos and seeing their hard work pay off by the reaction of their peers.
