AMITE — Pray Sonic is supporting the Keep Louisiana Beautiful Foundation by donating 100 percent of proceeds from the Blue Pelican Slush to promote the prevention of marine litter in Louisiana’s waterways, according to a press release from the franchise.
The Blue Pelican Slush includes Sprite, blue coconut flavoring and sweet cream blended into a refreshing slush. It was created by Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser in collaboration with carhops in the Amite Sonic kitchen.
“I’m proud to partner with a Louisiana-based franchise that shares our commitment to keeping our state beautiful. The Blue Pelican Slush is more than just a refreshing treat – it’s a way for people to join the effort to clean up and protect Louisiana’s waterways. Every purchase reminds us that when we work together, we can make a lasting difference for our communities and our environment,” said Nungesser.
“As a quick-service restaurant, we see litter’s impact in our state and are committed to supporting Keep Louisiana Beautiful’s mission,” said Lori Moresi, marketing director for Pray Sonic. “If we all commit to disposing our trash responsibly, we will see cleaner communities and waterways.”
“Louisiana’s waterways are the lifeblood for our economy and a significant part of our state’s culture, so their health must be prioritized,” said Susan Russell, KLB executive director. “We know that 80 percent of marine litter comes from land-based sources, so we all need to do our part to put our trash where it belongs to ensure that our lakes, rivers, streams, bayous and the ocean are clean and beautiful for future generations.”
The Blue Pelican Slush is available at all Pray Sonic locations in Amite, Kentwood, Hammond, Ponchatoula, Morgan City, Thibodaux and Galliano and is a permanent addition to the menu.
