Cybersecurity has become the most in-demand professional skill in Mexico, according to Udemy’s Global Learning and Skills Trends Report 2026. The report highlights a 96% year-on-year increase in demand for cybersecurity training among corporate learners in the country.

“The growing demand for cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner demonstrates how cloud expertise has become the foundation of digital competitiveness in Mexico,” reads Udemy’s report.

Udemy Global Learning and Skills Trends Report 2026 analyzed learning data from more than 17,000 corporate clients worldwide to identify key upskilling and reskilling trends heading into 2026. The company’s findings underscore how Mexico’s digital transformation is reshaping workforce priorities. As organizations accelerate cloud adoption, AI integration, and data-driven decision-making, cybersecurity expertise has emerged as a critical component of corporate strategy.

Following cybersecurity, Microsoft Power BI and project management ranked as the second and third fastest-growing skills in Mexico, with annual increases of 48% and 44%, respectively. English language proficiency (32%) and leadership training (23%) also saw strong demand growth. Additional learning areas include time management (18%), data analysis (17%), SQL (17%), JavaScript (5%), and Amazon Web Services (AWS) (5%).

In terms of total content consumption, AWS and related cloud certifications lead the corporate learning landscape in Mexico. Udemy attributes this trend to the growing emphasis on cloud migration and digital infrastructure modernization among Mexican enterprises.

Data analysis and business intelligence also represent a key focus area. Skills such as Python, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power BI, and data science have become essential for organizations seeking to enhance decision-making through data insights. Within the programming domain, Java and ReactJS are identified as core competencies for developing enterprise-scale applications and user-centric web platforms.

Leadership and project management remain highly relevant due to ongoing digital transformation initiatives across multiple sectors. Udemy notes that organizations are increasingly seeking professionals capable of integrating technical proficiency with adaptive leadership, ensuring business continuity through rapid technological change.

Market Expectations

Looking toward 2026, Udemy projects that AI mastery will become a defining capability for the Mexican workforce. The report notes an accelerated adoption of AI-related learning content, including a 3,400% annual increase in courses related to Microsoft Copilot and a 13,534% rise in GitHub Copilot training for enterprise use cases.

As AI reshapes operational frameworks, soft skills such as critical thinking, communication, and creativity remain essential. Udemy identifies these as “adaptive skills” that enable professionals to remain agile amid constant technological disruption. The company emphasizes that adaptability is not only an individual attribute but also an organizational capability that determines long-term resilience.

The report also reveals a 98% year-over-year increase in enrollment in courses related to AI ethics and governance, reinforcing the growing corporate focus on responsible AI implementation. Leadership remains the sixth most studied corporate skill on Udemy Business, underscoring the importance of strategic management in aligning human and technical competencies.

Globally, Udemy reports more than 11 million enrollments in generative AI courses to date. The platform highlights immersive learning as a key differentiator, noting that companies adopting “learning in the flow of work” approaches achieve faster skill development and stronger retention rates. Over 950 role-play modules have been created by nearly 300 corporate clients since the product’s introduction, allowing employees to practice adaptive skills and receive real-time feedback.

The report concludes that organizations achieving sustained competitive advantage will be those that treat AI not merely as a technological tool but as an enterprise-wide operating system. Continuous learning, leadership engagement, and ethical governance are identified as the structural pillars of successful digital transformation.
