FDM Group has partnered with Northeastern University London to host a series of AI talks aimed at examining how the technology is reshaping business and employment.

The first event, Understanding AI: Beyond the Hype, took place on October 1, with three more sessions scheduled through the month.

FDM, a global consultancy focused on tech and business talent, said the collaboration is designed to connect employers, students, and academics around practical uses of AI. The series features speakers from AstraZeneca, News UK Technology, Investec, and Sainsbury’s.

Topics in the program range from generative AI to responsible adoption, prompt fluency, and the risks posed by deepfakes and misinformation. Sessions are being held in-person in London and streamed virtually, although details on attendance numbers and availability of recordings have not been outlined.

Sheila Flavell, COO of FDM Group, says: “Collaboration between industry and education is fundamental to shaping the future of AI development. By working together, businesses and academic institutions can ensure AI is developed responsibly, ethically, and inclusively. Through initiatives like our AI talk series, we’re bringing thought leaders together to help organisations and individuals truly understand what AI means for their future and how to prepare for it through training.”
