FG Targets One Million Girls, Women with LUMINAH 2030 Education Initiative – Nigeria Education News
The Federal Ministry of Education has announced plans to host the LUMINAH 2030–UBEC Migration and Establishment Agenda from August 18 to 26, 2025, at the Digital Resource Centre (DRC).
The initiative is designed to transform the lives of over one million underserved girls and women in Nigeria by the year 2030.
According to the Ministry, LUMINAH 2030 will focus on expanding access to education, vocational training, and leadership development, with particular emphasis on communities where opportunities for women and girls remain limited.
The program’s objectives include empowering girls and women through education and economic support, improving access to quality learning with a focus on STEM, technical, and vocational education, as well as promoting digital literacy to bridge the gender gap in technology.
Expected outcomes of the initiative include increased access to educational and economic opportunities, improved digital skills that boost employability and social mobility, and stronger partnerships among government agencies, development partners, and community-based organisations.
The Ministry emphasised that LUMINAH 2030 would serve as a platform to align national education priorities with global development goals, ensuring that Nigerian girls and women are equipped to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.
