Larry Summers, the former treasury secretary and director of the National Economic Council during both the Clinton and Obama administrations, said he is deeply ashamed for his relationship and communication with convicted sex predator Jeffrey Epstein that was revealed through hundreds of messages.

Summers said he is now stepping away from public life as the GOP calls for more investigations into former Democratic administration officials.

The House is poised to vote on a bill to compel the Department of Justice to release all Epstein files, with the vote coming as early as Tuesday.

Jody Weis, who is the former head of the Chicago Police Department and retired FBI special agent in charge, said he thinks the files will contain many emails, investigative documents, financial records, and flight records. He said if the bill was written properly, there might even be some federal grand jury information.

“And don’t forget, there were two files for [Ghislaine] Maxwell, so all those files should be making their way out to the public,” Weis told The National News Desk’s Jan Jeffcoat during a one-on-one interview on Tuesday.

Leading up to the vote, the House Oversight Committee already released thousands of documents, but no new information was revealed. It raises the question as to what’s left.

I think what’s out there that people want to see is going to be Epstein’s network, and that’s going to be billionaires, politicians, you know, who was really involved with this scumbag,” Weis said. “We’re probably going to see that. I think there’s still going to be some questions. I don’t think the ‘Epstein List’ is going to be published. And I think people might see some investigative leads that weren’t pursued, and they’re going to be scratching their head and asking themselves why not.”

Weis also said that he hopes the victims will finally get a voice, adding that he hopes the public will also get transparency. He said he hopes “the elites” start to squirm a bit when they start seeing that the choices they made have resulted in the list becoming public.
