Highland Library Cooperative announced it will host free digital skills training on Dec. 1 at their Sebring location and on Dec. 2 at its Lake Placid location. The classes are intended for learners who are new to using a computer and want to build confidence while staying safe online. Topics include: using web browsers, creating passwords that are hard to guess, using search engines, navigating a mobile device, and so much more. Workshops will be taught by a digital literacy bilingual expert with the national nonprofit Connected Nation (CN).
“The Highland Library Cooperative’s mission is to empower everyone with the tools and knowledge they need to fully participate in our tech-driven world, enabling and ensuring equitable opportunities for all residents,” said Vikki Brown, HLC Sebring and Lake Placid. “Empowering a wide range of community members with essential digital skills is vital in today’s digital landscape. We encourage adults from all backgrounds and ages to seize these opportunities to acquire new digital skills or enhance existing ones.”
Heartland Library Cooperative is partnering with Connected Nation (CN), a national nonprofit committed to bridging the Digital Divide, to host digital skills training.
