Google AI Studio launches full-stack AI app tools
Google has upgraded Google AI Studio with a new full-stack coding experience, introducing backend infrastructure, authentication, and expanded framework support within a single workflow.
The update moves the platform beyond prototyping, positioning it as a tool for building production-ready applications.
The release centers on a new coding agent, Google Antigravity, designed to translate prompts into structured applications and manage multi-step builds. The agent maintains context across projects, enabling more complex development with fewer manual inputs.
Google AI Studio now integrates Firebase directly into the development process. The system detects when applications require a database or user authentication and provisions Cloud Firestore and Firebase Authentication automatically.
Support for external services has also been expanded. Developers can connect APIs, payment systems, and Google services, with credentials stored through a built-in secrets management system.
Persistent sessions allow users to resume work across devices without losing progress.
Broader framework support and use cases
The platform now supports Next.js alongside React and Angular, extending its use for modern web applications. The agent also integrates with frontend libraries, selecting tools based on user prompts.
Use cases highlighted include multiplayer applications, collaborative tools, and real-time environments. These builds combine front-end interfaces with backend functionality, reflecting a shift toward AI-native applications rather than standalone demos.
Google says the updated system has already been used internally to build hundreds of thousands of applications.
The update signals a change in how AI coding tools are being positioned. AI Studio is no longer limited to generating snippets or prototypes. It now supports full application workflows, from prompt to deployment.
For EdTech, this points to a shift in how coding and digital skills are taught. Learners are increasingly working with tools that generate, structure, and deploy applications, reducing reliance on traditional development processes.
ETIH Innovation Awards 2026
