GTA Online Giving Away $1,000,000 Bonus Cash to Players
GTA 6 might not be coming this year, but Rockstar has revealed one nice end-of-summer surprise for Grand Theft Auto Online fans. During the wait for GTA 6, GTA Online remains the go-to destination for digital criminal mayhem, and Rockstar is keeping players busy with special events and more. On top of that, every active GTA Online player will now receive an influx of bonus cash.
Rockstar announced that anyone who plays GTA Online from now until September 17 will receive a one-time boost of GTA$1,000,000. Premium GTA+ subscribers will get an additional $1,000,000 on top of that, doubling their total haul. While the cash might not appear immediately after logging in, it should show up within 72 hours.
GTA Online Players Are Getting A Lot Of Digital Cash
1 Million Is Nothing To Sneeze At
$1,000,000 might not be quite as elusive in GTA Online as it is in real life, but it’s still a princely sum. For comparison, a Great White Shark Card that costs $9.99 real-world dollars will net you $600,000 in-game, and a $19.99 investment bumps that to $1,500,000.
The cash influx isn’t the only way to make money in GTA Online‘s end-of-summer event. Mr. Yetarian’s Export Requests are getting a 3X bonus to GTA$ and RP rewards, and Simeon Contact missions are getting 2X rewards (or 4X if you’re subscribed to GTA+). Completing the Premium Deluxe Repo Work lineup will result in another $500,000 bonus, and finishing three Weekly Challenge missions will net a respectable $100,000.
Rockstar’s official post shares a number of other rewards, discounts, and limited-time promotions, including the last opportunity to claim a free Declasse Drift Walton in GTA Online before August 27. Other modes with enhanced rewards include Sumo (Remix) and the Community Race Series.
It’s A Great Time To Play GTA Online
Keep Yourself Occupied Until GTA 6
GTA Online is coming up on its 12th anniversary, but without a successor yet available, the service is still going strong. If you’re not looking to trade in real cash for Shark Cards, this is a great opportunity to take advantage of a no-strings-attached cash influx.
The significantly higher benefits for a GTA+ subscription might feel a little demoralizing to standard players, but that disparity isn’t anything new. While there are frequent opportunities to criticize Rockstar’s approach to GTA Online monetization, there’s no real reason to look this particular gift horse in the mouth.
We’ve still got nine months to wait for GTA 6, and that’s assuming another delay doesn’t throw a wrench into affairs. In the meantime, Grand Theft Auto Online‘s end-of-summer giveaway might just be the next best thing.
