February 20, 2026- Today, Principal Secretary for Culture and Heritage Ummi Bashir, alongside Hon. Adan Daud, MP for Wajir East, and the County Commissioner for Wajir, attended the graduation ceremony of the DigiTruck training programme held at the ICT Hall in Wajir. The initiative aims to enhance digital literacy and technological skills within the local community, empowering participants to leverage technology for personal and professional growth. The presence of these senior officials underscored the importance of the programme in promoting education and development in the region.

The milestone marked the successful completion of a five-week training programme for 200 young people in Wajir East, delivered through a strategic partnership with Huawei. The DigiTruck initiative sought to equip participants with essential digital skills, including basic IT training, software development, and digital entrepreneurship. Such programmes play a vital role in addressing the technology gap in the region and empowering youth to pursue opportunities in the digital economy.
