The Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force recently completed a two-day advanced “Undercover Chat Course” with the goal of enhancing the skills of investigators and prosecutors in covert online operations and digital evidence gathering. Conducted by Covert Media Consulting, the training provided specialized instruction on creating and managing undercover accounts, identifying and engaging online offenders, and collecting admissible digital evidence.

Participants, including 45 investigators and prosecutors from Idaho and one ICAC investigator from Utah, engaged in live demonstrations, legal case reviews, and practical exercises to develop functional undercover identities and apply modern investigative tools. This initiative supports Idaho Attorney General Raul Labrador’s mission to protect vulnerable children across the state.
