Infosys Foundation USA has announced the recipients of its Digital Workforce Innovation Program in partnership with the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE) and MakerUSA, revealed at NACCE’s Annual Conference. Six higher education institutions—a mix of community colleges, four-year universities, and historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs)—will receive funding to enhance workforce readiness initiatives.
These programs focus on equipping learners with digital skills, a maker mindset, and entrepreneurial thinking to address challenges in today’s technology-driven economy. The awardees include Coppin State University (MD), Foothill College (CA), GateWay Community College (AZ), Houston City College (TX), Ivy Tech Community College (IN), and North Iowa Area Community College (IA).
NACCE, a leading organization in community college entrepreneurship education, led the competitive selection based on criteria such as readiness, sustainability, workforce relevance, and measurable outcomes. Over the next 18 months, these institutions will receive financial support, tailored technical assistance, personalized coaching, regular cohort meetings, mentorship, and student-driven data analysis. Each will also utilize Infosys Springboard, the Foundation’s digital learning platform, offering access to over 11,000 interactive modules covering topics like AI, cloud computing, data analytics, cybersecurity, and professional skills.
An essential part of this program is access to SkillPointe, NACCE’s career exploration platform providing detailed information about skilled trades, including training requirements, scholarships, salary expectations, and job outlooks. The integration of SkillPointe with Infosys Springboard allows learners from diverse backgrounds to explore clear career pathways from education to employment.
Rebecca Corbin, NACCE’s President & CEO, emphasized the power of this collaboration in bringing innovative ideas to life, while Kate Maloney, Executive Director of Infosys Foundation USA, highlighted the program’s role in preparing the workforce for a technology-driven future. MakerUSA contributes by offering consulting, technical support, and connections to a national network of institutions focused on inclusive maker education. This initiative aims to reach over 3,000 students in two years, supporting sustainable workforce development and positioning participants for STEM careers in the era of AI.
