The programme supports the government of Mozambique’s key priority of digital economy, enhancing digital literacy among the youth, with a specific focus on girls. In particular, the action aims to contribute to an enabling environment for an inclusive digital transformation. Moreover, it aims to enhance opportunities for youth for decent employment, innovation and digital entrepreneurship, with a focus on vulnerable populations.

The action contributes to the overall objective of the Team Europe Initiative e-Youth, more specifically, to foster digital transformation for inclusive growth and create greater opportunities for young women and men to secure decent employment and income against a background of increased trade and investment.

Expected results:

  • Enabled environment for high quality access to broadband communication networks and services at affordable prices for all; youth’s digital skills improved; enhanced digital entrepreneurship and use of digital technologies, including in creative industries; and youth prioritised as innovators and creators.
  • Enhanced access to finance and capacities for start-ups and SMEs, with a particular focus on digital, renewable energy, green, and creative industries; and boosted inclusive employability of youth by equipping them with labour relevant skills and accompanying their transition from school to work.
