Microsoft’s Big Baking Challenge saw journalists and creators come together to dream up some cracking cakes to mark the availability of Surface Copilot+ PCs last week.

With ingredients including imagination, innovation and technology, our creative bakers cooked up some extraordinary confections, inspired by the event theme: ‘Reinvent Yourself with AI’.

With AI-powered assistance on tap courtesy of 13-inch Surface Laptops and 12-inch Surface Pros, the bakers harnessed their personal ambitions, unleashed their creativity, and gave full rein to their self-expression, to come up with edible masterpieces in a flurry of flour.

From dreaming up a future adventure, to imagining a passion project, AI proved itself to be supportive assistant, helping attendees get started, stay inspired, and bring their ideas to life.

Some participants crafted cakes inspired by upcoming travel adventures, while others envisioned their dream London storefront for a clothing brand.

And Microsoft Copilot helped them hone their ideas and guided them through each step of the baking process. Whether refining decoration techniques or organising their workflow, AI showed them how they could simplify complex tasks and spark new ideas.

As the final cakes were unveiled and the ovens cooled, the Microsoft Big Baking Challenge left attendees not only with a sense of accomplishment, but also an understanding of how AI-powered technology can empower them to be more creative and effective.

The new Surface devices are available now at the Microsoft Store and at retailers nationwide.
