New Age | Discussion for making youths prepared for AI challenges

Speakers at a discussion on Saturday urged the government to equip youths with the skills necessary to explore the opportunities offered by Artificial Intelligence as well as tackle the challenges it posed, said a press release.
Youth Media Forum and Jobletics jointly organised the discussion titled ‘Youth empowerment through AI and digital skills’ on the occasion of World Youth Skills Day.
Speakers highlighted that AI was rapidly transforming job markets and reshaping the future of work, and Bangladeshi youths must be prepared to adapt to these changes. They stressed that proactive steps were needed from policymakers to ensure the country could harness the full potential of its demographic dividend.
Jobletic managing director Zakia Haque said that revolution in information, communication and digital technology changed the nature, demand and supply of manpower across the world.
‘To meet the changing demand the country’s youth workforce must be ready,’ she urged.
Dhaka Tribune editor Reaz Ahmad said that young people were already earning from the job market based on digital platforms, adding that measures should be taken to ensure their safety and rights.
Jobletic’s business development adviser Obaidur Rahman said that new sectors that were highly based on technology should be brought under the national economic chain.
