NRS Boss, Zaach Adedeji, Empowers 105 Ogbomoso Artisans with Digital Skills
The Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), Dr. Zaach Adedeji, has empowered no fewer than 105 artisans across Ogbomosoland with practical digital skills aimed at boosting productivity and business growth.
The 10-day programme, organised in collaboration with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), included five days of intensive online sessions and five days of physical training at Opete Hall, Ogo Oluwa Local Government Area, Oyo State.
Beneficiaries were drawn from Ogo Oluwa, Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South, Oriire, and Surulere local government areas.
Speaking at the closing ceremony last Friday through his representative, Hon. Adesoji Adedeji, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the NRS chief described the initiative as part of his commitment to grassroots economic empowerment.
“This intervention reflects our determination to equip artisans and small-scale entrepreneurs with the digital skills needed to thrive in today’s technology-driven economy. The knowledge, tools, and stipends provided are meant to strengthen your businesses, increase your income, and position you for greater opportunities,” he said.
He urged participants to make judicious use of the training and justify the investment made in them.
Earlier, NITDA facilitator, Mr. Samson Ajayi advised beneficiaries to apply their skills to expand their businesses.
“The digital economy is growing rapidly. With the training you have received, you can market your products online, maintain proper digital records, protect your data, and reach customers beyond your immediate communities,” he said.
Ajayi also warned against selling the laptops and other items provided during the programme.
“Do not sell the laptops. Use them to practise and improve your businesses,” he added.
Participants praised the NRS chief, describing the initiative as timely and impactful.
They pledged to deploy the skills and equipment to enhance their livelihoods and contribute meaningfully to societal development.
