The Palmyra Historical Society will kick off its summer fundraiser May 23 with an online auction.

On offer will be gift cards to Grandview Tavern and Castaway Craig’s in Lake Milton, Maggie’s Doughnuts in Newton Falls, Sunshine Cupcakes Etc. in Ravenna, canoeing at Hocking Hills, wineries, breweries, sports events and more.

One lucky bidder will win two day passes to the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati, tickets to a Cincinnati Reds baseball game and entry to the Cincinnati Nature Center.

Also on offer will be overnight stays at the Spread Eagle Tavern in Hanoverton and Landoll’s Mohican Castle in Loudonville. An autographed picture and CD by boxing great Ray (Boom Boom) Mancini and toys from Little Tikes and Step2 will also be available.

PHS is hoping to raise sufficient funds to install three new signs at Whippoorwill Cemetery on Wayland Road, and at North and Robinson cemeteries, both on state Route 225. With funds raised last year, the organization purchased and installed a sign at Welsh Baptist Cemetery.

Items will begin appearing on PHS’s Facebook page (search Palmyra Ohio Historical Society) at 10 a.m. May 23. Bids will be accepted until 7 p.m. May 26. To place a bid, click on the desired item, view previous bids, and enter an offer.

Payment will be accepted via PayPal or Venmo or by presenting cash to PHS President Della Evans at time of pickup. Winning bidders should contact Evans at (330) 720-4883 to arrange pickup or delivery by mail.
