With a focus on digital equity, the City of Philadelphia’s first community tech expo will distribute thousands of laptops to residents.

Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker and Temple University have joined forces for “Power Up Philly: Community Tech Expo.”

Power Up Philly is part of the Parker Administration’s commitment to expanding digital access to residents.

The expo will take place this weekend, Saturday, March 28, at Temple University’s Aramark STAR Complex.

1,600 laptops will be handed out to pre-registered residents chosen through 59 community organizations citywide at the expo. Another 500 laptops will be available to residents on a first-come, first-served basis.

Attendees can check out live demonstrations and interactive exhibits from tech companies such as Dell, SAP, Comcast, Microsoft, and Lenovo, enjoy free tech support, sharpen their digital skills in workshops, and so much more.
