Trane, Nuevo Leon Ministry of Equality Promote Digital Education
The Ministry of Equality and Inclusion, led by Martha Herrera, together with the company Trane, inaugurated a Technology Classroom at the Santa Fe Community Center to reduce the digital divide and foster access to digital learning resources for children, youth, and adults in the community.
This initiative is reflected in concrete actions such as:
-
Promotion of digital education: The Technology Classroom will provide access to equipment and tools that encourage learning in STEAM subjects — Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics — as well as the development of key skills for the future workforce.
-
Tangible results: The installation included lighting, ventilation, and furniture, improving learning conditions at the Community Center.
-
Shared commitment: Government and the private sector are working together to open educational and employment opportunities, strengthening the importance of corporate social responsibility.
The event included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, which is expected to serve dozens of beneficiaries at the Community Center who can now be trained in the use of technological tools and strengthen their digital skills.

Mauricio Canseco, Deputy Minister of Social Investment and Strategic Partnerships at the Ministry of Equality and Inclusion, highlighted: “Strategic alliances like this are examples of how collaboration between government, business, and community generates concrete results. This Technology Classroom represents another step toward closing the digital divide and providing our people with access to better educational and employment opportunities.”
Meanwhile, Daniel Córdova, Operations Director, Trane Monterrey, stated: “At Trane, we firmly believe in the importance of contributing to the development of the communities where we operate. This Technology Classroom is a way to boost local talent and open the door to new opportunities for learning and growth for children and young people.”

According to recent figures, in Nuevo Leon only 52% of households had a computer in 2023, while 92% of jobs already required digital skills. Studies show that those who transition from a job without technological skills to one requiring at least three can increase their salary by an average of 45%. The use of computers for work rose from 36.7% in 2015 to 50.2% in 2023, while access in public spaces dropped drastically from 41% to 14.9%, underscoring the urgency of creating more community spaces for digital learning.
Trane, a global leader in creating comfortable and energy-efficient indoor environments through air conditioning and energy efficiency solutions, has strengthened its social commitment in Nuevo Leon through multiple integration activities and in-kind contributions to programs such as Zero Hunger. The installation of this Technology Classroom in Santa Fe adds to its history of collaboration and commitment with the state.

The inauguration of the Technology Classroom in Santa Fe not only symbolized the opening of a physical space, but also of new opportunities that will transform lives. Every computer turned on in this center represents an open door to knowledge, innovation, and a future with more possibilities for families in Nuevo Leon.
