LUSPS Freerollers Open Sees More Qualifiers Make the Cut

The Legal U.S. Poker Sites Freerollers Open has been full of action during August and this week saw another 21 players book their seats to the end-of-month finale where $500 will be up for grabs.

If you haven’t booked your seat yet, you’ve still got time to qualify in one of three daily freerolls on Legal U.S. Poker Sites, where a top prize of $180 will be awarded to the winner, the runner-up winning $100 and others at the final table claiming a share of $220 between them. It’s been a busy week where almost two dozen players claimed their spot in the 81 qualifiers… so who has made the cut?

What’s on Offer at the LUSPS Freerollers Open Final?

August ends with a $500 prizepool Freerollers Open final, where 87 qualifiers in total will do battle on Sunday August 31. On that night, only the final table of nine will make money, with eighth and ninth place winning $10, seventh place claiming $20 and all the way up to a winner who will cash out $180 in free money!

Making the Final Night

This week saw 21 qualifiers make the final and in exciting fashion. Here are a top-rate trio of final hands from this week’s qualifiers from August 22^nd – 29^th inclusive.

1. shikhcmt vs. Hoodie vs. poreman54 – The River’s the Kicker

On August 23, a three-way all-in ended the action in the first of three qualifiers in dramatic fashion. All-in with king-four, ‘poreman54’ was at risk of elimination as was ‘Hoodie’ with eight-six offsuit. The man with the chips was ‘shikhcmt’ with king-seven, but after a flop of A-K-K a chop looked possible. A ten on the turn meant it was more than likely but a three-outer seven on the river gave ‘shikhcmt’ the full house and took out both of their opponents to put them in the final at their expense.

2. TheDon vs. ZamZam – Dominating but Defeated

The next night, it was a heartbreaking end to ZamZam’s chances of making the final showdown on August 31 when he got it in at-risk but very good. Holding ace-six to TheDon’s seven-six, ‘ZamZam’ must have thought that they’d picked the perfect time for a double-up. It was not to be. A safe-looking board of K-J-T was followed on the turn by an eight. Only a seven or a nine would end it there and then and ‘TheDon’ found a nine for a miraculous runner-runner straight to knock out ‘ZamZam’ and take a seat in the month-end showdown.

3. Jakecrenesans vs. Bonw6 – Four Flushing to the Finale

Lastly, the best – or worst – final hand of the qualifiers happened when ‘Jakecrenesans’ was all-in with the bigger stack holding six-five offsuit with the five of diamonds. ‘Bongw6’ shoved with the superior king-five offsuit. The flop of 9-7-7 with two diamonds looked safe enough, but a jack of diamonds on the turn was followed by the six of diamonds on the river as a surely disbelieving Bongw6’ saw themselves busted with the best hand in spectacular fashion.
