MARYSVILLE – Union County is celebrating Manufacturing Month with the third annual Crafted in Union County, a hands-on career exploration event designed to connect local high school seniors with the county’s thriving manufacturing industry.

Crafted in Union County, a partnership between Union County Economic Development, Ohio MEP at Columbus State, and the Marysville Exempted Village School District (MEVSD), will be held on October 23, 2025, at Marysville High School. The event brings together manufacturers from across the County to highlight the career opportunities available in this vital sector.

The Ohio MEP at Columbus State (Manufacturing Extension Partnership) works with manufacturers across Central Ohio to strengthen competitiveness, develop workforce talent, and foster innovation. Their role in Crafted in Union County helps bridge the gap between education and industry, ensuring students are exposed to the wide range of skills and career paths available in manufacturing.

Now in its third year, Crafted in Union County has grown into a signature event for both students and employers. During the experience, students rotate through interactive stations hosted by local companies, giving them the chance to:

  • Explore real-world career paths in advanced manufacturing.
  • Engage with professionals and ask questions about skills, training, and opportunities.
  • Participate in hands-on activities and vote for their favorite company experience.

Jeff Spain, Ohio MEP Director, underscores the significance of this event, stating, “The Ohio MEP can use four words to describe a career in Ohio manufacturing: Pride, Security, Innovation, and Great Pay. Union County has a rich manufacturing history, and it shows. Ohio manufacturers are proud to be making the products that drive our economy. Manufacturing is growing in central Ohio, and we have secure careers. Our continued innovation is why Ohio is the third-largest manufacturing GDP in the country. And with average annual earnings for Ohio workers in manufacturing at $70,000, we are here to stay.”

Manufacturing continues to be one of the largest employment sectors in Union County, offering careers ranging from engineering and production to robotics and supply chain management. Crafted in Union County highlights both the technical skills and the creative problem-solving that drive this industry forward.

Event Details:
Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM at the Marysville High School Field House, 800 Amrine Mill Rd., Marysville, Ohio
