Senior adults will have an opportunity to learn about a program designed to help then navigate the digital world from 10-11 a.m. March 11 in the board meeting room of Wilkes Senior Resources at the Wilkes Senior Center.

Fred Wilson, a digital navigator with the High Country Area Agency on Aging in Boone, will discuss possibilities of the program during the session, stated a press release from Wilkes Senior Resources.

The release said topics to be addressed include basic digital skills; email, text and password security; recognizing and avoiding digital scams; using a smartphone or tablet; digital genealogy tools; preparing for telehealth appointments; acquiring low-cost smartphones and computers; and learning to us health care portals.

An iPad and set-up session with Wilson will be given way at the March 11 meeting.

The Wilkes Senior Center is in the former Fairplains Elementary School at 228 Fairplains School Road, North Wilkesboro.
