The gala brings together community leaders to support programs that empower families through technology access, youth development, and peace education.

ATLANTA — Community leaders, educators and tech innovators will gather on Saturday for Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light  (HWPL) Georgia’s Power of Peace & Technology Gala. It’s an event designed to spotlight how technology and peace-building can work hand-in-hand to strengthen neighborhoods across the state.

The gala, happening Dec. 6 from 7–10 p.m. at the Clarkston Community Center, is the organization’s largest annual fundraiser, supporting peace education, digital access for low-income families, youth leadership programs and intercultural community initiatives.

HWPL Georgia was founded in 2020,  and has a mission to help transform the “Peach State” to a peace state. The nonprofit provides peace curriculum to schools and community groups, teaches mediation and conflict-resolution skills, and works to close the digital divide by putting reliable technology and training into the hands of families who need it most.

This year’s gala will feature keynote speakers, global peace updates, live performances and community impact awards honoring local innovation and people working to bring peace to their communities.  HWPL Georgia, General Director Kim Thomas says the support brings real community impact.
“This gala brings life-changing technology access to families in need and peace education to our communities,” Thomas said. “Your support empowers families, strengthens neighborhoods, and helps create a future where innovation uplifts everyone.”

Proceeds will expand peace education workshops, provide devices and digital literacy training to underserved households, and support youth empowerment programs that help students become leaders in conflict resolution and civic engagement.
