As 2025 comes to a close, Cybastion stands out as a leading force shaping Africa’s digital future, recording a year defined by strategic expansion, transformative infrastructure projects, and large-scale investment in digital skills across the continent.

In his year-end message, Dr. Thierry Wandji, President and CEO of Cybastion, described 2025 as a pivotal chapter in the company’s growth—one driven by bold execution, deep partnerships, and a clear mission to build resilient, secure, and sovereign digital ecosystems for African nations.

A major milestone this year was the launch of Cybastion’s flagship Digital Fast Track program. Designed as an accelerated pathway for national digital transformation, the initiative integrates sovereign data centers, secure digital and cybersecurity solutions, and workforce development—addressing both infrastructure and human-capital gaps critical to Africa’s long-term competitiveness.

Cybastion also expanded its continental footprint, entering four new markets—Gabon, Guinea, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Angola. This growth was underpinned by a robust consortium of U.S. and local technology partners, reinforcing Cybastion’s collaborative approach to delivering world-class digital solutions tailored to local priorities.

On the ground, the company reached several key implementation milestones. Construction began on Côte d’Ivoire’s national data center, while progress continued on the modernization and digitization of the country’s Ministry of Finance and Industry. Digital transformation programs in Benin and Burkina Faso advanced to critical stages, with new projects set to launch in Gabon and Guinea in 2026.

Beyond infrastructure, Cybastion strengthened its commitment to inclusive development with the launch of the THEYA Foundation, its tech-driven philanthropic arm. Through THEYA, the company introduced Africa DigiEmpower, an ambitious initiative aimed at equipping young people and women with in-demand digital skills and clear pathways into the technology workforce.

Since its first cohort in March in Côte d’Ivoire, Africa DigiEmpower has delivered training—both online and in person—across 12 cities, reaching more than 10,000 youth and women. A three-month Learn-a-Thon saw 1,824 participants trained in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and networking, culminating in a competitive final that produced a winner in mid-December. The program is slated for expansion next year to Gabon, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Burkina Faso.

Another landmark achievement was the opening of the Cybastion Tech Academy in Abidjan, envisioned as a regional hub for advanced technology training. The Academy earned designation as an official Cisco Networking Academy partner and Academy Support Center, further cementing Cybastion’s role in developing Africa’s next generation of digital professionals.

Looking ahead, Dr. Wandji emphasized that Cybastion will continue to deepen partnerships, invest in local capacity building, and advance secure digital ecosystems that drive economic growth, innovation, and digital sovereignty. He also highlighted a recent op-ed outlining a strategic blueprint for strengthening U.S.–Africa digital partnerships to shape the continent’s economic future.

As Cybastion enters the new year, its 2025 achievements signal a broader shift: Africa’s digital transformation is accelerating—built on strong infrastructure, empowered people, and collaborative global partnerships.
