IB Associate – Data Centers & Digital Infrastructure | Manhattan, NY, USA
A boutique investment bank is building out its Data Centers & Digital Infrastructure coverage team and is hiring an Investment Banking Associate in New York. The role provides direct exposure to high‑growth infrastructure advisory mandates across M&A and capital raising. The team welcomes candidates from investment banking as well as transaction advisory, diligence, or valuation backgrounds looking to transition into advisory.
Our client, a boutique investment banking firm, is seeking an Investment Banking Associate to join its Data Centers & Digital Infrastructure sector coverage team in New York. The Associate will work closely with senior bankers on M&A advisory and capital raising assignments, advising founders, private equity sponsors, infrastructure funds, and strategic acquirers across the rapidly growing digital infrastructure landscape.
The team is open to candidates from traditional investment banking backgrounds as well as Transaction Advisory Services (TAS), Financial Due Diligence (FDD), or Valuations, provided candidates bring strong financial analysis skills and a clear interest in advisory work.
The team advises companies and investors across core digital infrastructure verticals, including:
- Data centers (hyperscale, colocation, powered shell, turnkey)
- Fiber and connectivity infrastructure
- Wireless and tower assets
- Broader digital infrastructure and technology‑enabled infrastructure themes
Key Responsibilities
- Support execution of sell-side and buy-side M&A transactions and equity and debt capital raises within the digital infrastructure sector
- Coordinate transaction processes alongside senior bankers, clients, counterparties, and external advisors
- Manage workstreams across live deals, including diligence, analysis, and marketing deliverables
- Build and review detailed financial models, including operating models, transaction models, and valuation analyses
- Perform valuation work using DCF, comparable companies, and precedent transactions
- Analyze business plans, historical financials, and key operating metrics relevant to infrastructure assets
- Prepare and refine pitch books, investor presentations, teasers, and information memoranda
- Conduct industry and company research to support origination efforts and client discussions
- Synthesize complex financial and diligence findings into clear, client‑ready messaging
- Coordinate financial and commercial diligence processes, including managing data rooms, diligence requests, and Q&A
- Track transaction timelines and ensure deliverables are met accurately and efficiently
- Review analyst work for accuracy and quality; provide coaching and mentorship
- Take ownership of core execution responsibilities while maintaining high attention to detail
Qualifications
Required
- 2-5+ years of relevant experience in:
- Investment Banking (sector or product coverage), or
- Transaction Advisory Services (TAS), Financial Due Diligence (FDD), or Valuations with direct transaction exposure
- Strong financial modeling, analytical, and valuation skill set
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, lean team environment
Preferred
- Exposure to data centers, digital infrastructure, infrastructure investing, or related asset classes
- Prior experience supporting M&A processes or capital raises
- Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills with a high bar for presentation quality
