The Minnesota DFL Senate Caucus is looking for digital interns who will play a crucial role in assisting our Digital Team in gearing up for the 2026 campaign. This internship will offer hands-on experience in content creation, writing, media monitoring, and direct candidate support. This position is paid at $16.50 an hour for up to 20 hours of work a week.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Support the Digital Director in executing the campaign’s digital and social media strategy Draft content across social platforms (Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, etc.) that reflects Senate DFL values and messaging 
  • Help manage the caucuses social media calendar and posting schedule Assist with digital storytelling around campaign events, issues, and candidate messaging Capture, edit, and organize photo and video content from campaign events, canvasses, and community engagement 
  • Draft basic email or SMS content, and digital graphics under staff guidance Help maintain a consistent voice and visual identity for the Senate DFL across platforms Monitor social media activity, comments, and trends; flag opportunities or concerns Assist with rapid-response content and digital organizing efforts 
  • Provide general support for digital projects, including research, content calendars, asset management, and data entry 
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. 

Qualifications: 

  • Pursuit or recent completion of a degree in Communications, Political Science, or a related field. 
  • Basic skills in graphic design, video editing, or content creation (Canva, Adobe, CapCut, etc.) 
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms and political digital content Clear, concise writing and organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • A strong work ethic and ability to work independently. 
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment with occasional work in the evenings and on weekends. 
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite. 
  • Passion for progressive values, Minnesota politics, and interest in political advocacy.
