Here’s a look at some of the topics Door County’s local government boards and committees will discuss this week. 

Liberty Grove Plan Commission

Wednesday, April 8, 7 pm, 11161 Old Stage Road

With a resolution supporting Dark Sky initiatives already passed, the town’s plan commission will now consider a Dark Sky ordinance. 

Also on the agenda is consideration of adding a six-night minimum stay to the town’s short-term-rental ordinance.

Village of Sister Bay Parks, Property & Streets Committee

Monday, April 6, 1 pm, Sister Bay-Liberty Grove Fire Station, 2258 Mill Road

In December 2025, the village board decided the location for the new administration building would be at the site of the former parks building on Mill Road, and held a pubic information meeting about those intentions on March 2. The committee decided at that meeting to move forward with the development of a Request for Proposals (RFP) for architecture and engineering services. At this April 6 meeting, members will review the staff-prepared RFP before making a recommendation to the village board.

Door County Broadband Committee

Tuesday, April 7, 11 am, Door County Government Center, 421 Nebraska St., Sturgeon Bay

Continued committee discussion signals ongoing county investment in connectivity infrastructure. At this quarterly meeting, the committee will review a digital skills survey update and discuss broadband nutrition labels and who carries the cost of digital transformation.

Door County Highway Committee

Wednesday, April 8, 9 am, Door County Government Center, 421 Nebraska St., Sturgeon Bay

This committee always has a lot on its plate, and this month it’s no different. Members will review a museum report; receive updates on an airport runway/taxiway project, Snow Storm Elsa and the County Road S/S. Duluth Ave. construction project; support a battery stewardship bill that recently became law; and set a date for the annual county highway road review tour.See the full agenda here.
