McDonald’s KPop Demon Hunters character cards are going up, up, up with their prices as they hit the online resale market.

Resellers are starting to list the McDonald’s character cards from The HUNTRIX Meal and Saja Boys Breakfast Meal at online sites such as eBay, with some posting prices far above the price of the meals.

Prices are especially high for three of the rarest cards, which are being listed as high as $100 or more in some cases by resellers banking on collector demand to make a tidy profit.

Here’s what you need to know about the McDonald’s KPop Demon Hunters character cards.

What are the McDonald’s KPop Demon Hunters character cards

One is the rare Rumi holofoil card from The HUNTRIX Meal, which shows the main protagonist of KPop Demon Hunters wearing a white outfit. The card is one of only two three-diamond rarity cards from the McDonald’s collaboration. Three diamond rarity is part of a rating system some card collectors use and means that a card is hard to acquire.

The second is the Jinu Demon foil card from the Saja Boys Breakfast Meal, which shows the popular male character in his demonic form. This is the second three-diamond rarity card in the KPop Demon Hunters collab.

Rounding out the list is the ultra-rare Rumi Jinu “Hands” card, which has a chance to be acquired from both the HUNTRIX and Saja Boys meals. The card, which is being called the “Rujinu” card by some fans, shows the two characters on each corner and their hands holding each other in the middle. It is the only card to denote its rarity with a heart symbol and has been described as “one of the rarest” cards from the joint promotion by McDonald’s senior marketing director Guillaume Huin in a post on former Twitter site X.

McDonald’s is no stranger to releasing cards that see strong demand. Just last year, the fast-food chain apologized and cancelled a special Pokémon collaboration after demand for a special Pikachu card — which has since been dubbed “Burgerchu” in the trading card community — led to long lines at restaurants and a lot of food waste as buyers dumped their uneaten meals.

The buying frenzy, which involved adult collectors and resellers, also caused some children to cry.

“We do not believe in abandoning and discarding food,” McDonald’s said in a statement obtained by the Associated Press.

Other companies that have seen their products fuel a huge resale market after going viral include Trader Joe’s, which regularly sells out of its canvas tote bags.

How much are McDonald’s KPop Demon Hunter cards selling for?

The McDonald’s KPop Demon Hunter cards haven’t quite reached the notoriety of Pokémon cards. The rarest cards, however, are being listed anywhere between $12 to more than $100 online just a few days after the release of the HUNTRIX and Saja Boys meals. Some sellers are also offering the full set of cards for more than $200.

The question now is whether those prices will hold, go up even higher or drop like a rock.

Even the sizzling hot Pokémon Trading Card Game market has recently seen a correction after surging sharply in price as Sneaker Bros. and “hype beasts” left the tanking sneaker resale market and switched to selling Pokémon cards. The sharp increase in demand — and resale pricing — caused the Pokémon Company to boost card manufacturing to satisfy demand and also deter resellers.

“We are actively working to print more of the impacted Pokémon TCG products as quickly as possible and at maximum capacity to acknowledge this,” the Pokémon Company posted earlier this year.

“Reprinted products are expected to be available at participating retailers as soon as possible.”

What cards are available from the McDonald’s KPop Demon Hunters meals?

The McDonald’s KPop Demon Hunters collaboration offers 13 cards total.

One card, the extra rare Rumi Jinu “Hands” holofoil, is considered the “chase card” — a term reserved for the rarest or highest value card in a set. This card can be obtained from either The HUNTRIX Meal or the Saja Boys Breakfast Meal.

Internet sleuths have also figured out the rarity of all the cards, which have been shared via this Reddit post.

There are five cards obtainable from The HUNTRIX Meal:

  • Rumi holofoil in white outfit (3 Diamonds, Rare)
  • HUNTRIX (2 Diamonds, Uncommon)
  • Rumi (1 Diamond, Common)
  • Mira (1 Diamond, Common)
  • Zoey (1 Diamond, Common)

Then there are the seven cards from the Saja Boys Breakfast Meal

  • Jinu Demon holofoil (3 Diamonds, Rare)
  • Saja Boys (2 Diamonds, Uncommon)
  • Jinu (1 Diamond, Common)
  • Abby (1 Diamond, Common)
  • Baby (1 Diamond, Common)
  • Mystery (1 Diamond, Common)
  • Romance (1 Diamond, Common)

The rare Saja Boys cards are especially challenging to get since the Saja Boys Breakfast Meal is only available early in the day. This means you have to go before 10:30 or 11 a.m. depending on the location, which are the usual cutoff times for breakfast.

There are also more Saja Boy cards, which means a higher chance of pulling other cards besides the Rumi-Jinu or Jinu Demon.
