Cambodia, France explore cooperation on AI research, digital skills development
The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC) and the Grenoble Alpes University, a leading university in France, discussed potential cooperation on artificial intelligence, data science research and human resource development in Cambodia.
Chea Vandeth, Minister of MPTC, received a courtesy visit from Professor Yassine Lakhnech, Rector of Grenoble Alpes University, and his colleagues, held in Phnom Penh on May 4.
During the meeting, the MPTC Minister and the University Rector discussed potential collaboration on the ‘National AI and Data Science Research Centre’ project in Cambodia, aimed at strengthening the country’s digital research capacity.
Both sides also reviewed ongoing cooperation in human resource training between the university and the Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology (CADT), including programmes that send Cambodian students to study at Grenoble Alpes University for doctoral and master’s degrees.
The partnership also covered academic and professor exchanges in advanced digital fields such as space science, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI).
