Leading communications firm, Seraph Public Relations and Media, in collaboration with Othello Institute of Technology, Avalanche, and the Oniba of Iba Kingdom, has successfully held a 3-day digital literacy training tagged: ‘TechUpNaija: Iba Edition’.

The 3-day program, which took place on June 16th, 18th, and 20th, 2025, empowered over 150 young people and elderly entrepreneurs with essential computer and social media marketing skills.

Held across key locations in Iba, Lagos State including the Oniba’s Palace and Iba LCDA ICT Centre, the event provided hands-on training in areas such as WhatsApp Business, Facebook and Instagram marketing, Microsoft Word, Excel, Canva, and basic cybersecurity.

According to organisers, the initiative was designed to bridge the digital divide in underserved communities and promote economic empowerment through practical tech education.

The grand finale, which took place on Friday, June 20, was graced by high-profile dignitaries including His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Sulaimon Adeshina Raji (Ashade I), the Oniba of Iba Kingdom, and his queen OLORI Abike Adeshina, Mr. Foluso Balogun, CEO of Jazz Again, Kappo Samuel, Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Tertiary Education, and Hon. Taju Surajudeen, member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ojo Constituency II.

Speaking at the event, Judah Kolawole, Director of Seraph PR, stated: “This is more than a training — it’s a movement to make digital knowledge accessible to everyone, especially those who are often left behind in the tech conversation.”

His Royal Majesty, the Oniba of Iba, commended the initiative for its relevance and impact on the grassroots, pledging continued support for youth- and community-focused programs in Iba Kingdom.

Participants, many of whom were first-time computer users, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn, with some elderly attendees saying it was the first time they had ever typed a document or posted content for business purposes. Outstanding participants were recognized with tech gifts and cash prizes, further encouraging practical application of the skills learned.

TechUpNaija is a CSR initiative powered by Seraph Public Relations and Media and partners, aimed at promoting digital inclusion and empowering everyday Nigerians with the tech skills needed to thrive in today’s economy.
