Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Amr Talaat, witnessed the signing of a renewed cooperation agreement between the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and Arish University.

The initiative aims to enhance ICT skills among the youth in North Sinai, preparing them for local and global employment opportunities, especially in freelancing and entrepreneurship.

Signed by ITIDA’s CEO, Ahmed Elzaher, and Arish University’s President, Hassan El Demerdash, the three-year agreement targets 7,200 trainees, including university students and young people from across the governorate.

The program offers specialized training in digital skills, cybersecurity, English, freelancing, and entrepreneurship. For university students, it also includes summer internships, support for graduation projects, and skills development in collaboration with the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI). Certified local trainers will also be prepared to ensure sustainability.

Minister Talaat emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to empowering the youth without the need for relocation, while El Demerdash praised the expanded scope of the renewed agreement and the role of the Creativa Innovation Hub.

Elzaher highlighted that the previous phase exceeded its target by training over 2,200 youth and reaffirmed their dedication to building Sinai’s digital talent.
