GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An online auction of authentic memorabilia from the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay raised nearly $34,000 for the Northeast Wisconsin Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Titletown Auction Company presented the donation check at a ceremony Wednesday.
“This whole process has been incredibly rewarding for us,” said John Dugan, owner of Titletown Auction Company. He is also a Red Cross volunteer.
Rebecca Rockhill, the executive director of the Northeast Wisconsin Chapter of the American Red Cross, said she and her team were blown away by the results of the auction. She added the donation will make a big difference.
“To turn this into being able to help and take care of and support so many families around the Northeast Wisconsin community through this generous donation just really allows us to be there and to help those families in need when they need it most,” said Rockhill.
Dugan said 449 bidders from 26 states and four countries participated in the auction, making over 9,000 total bids. The online auction site was viewed more than 127,000 times.
In the end, 156 football fans walked away from the auction as the owner of a piece of Green Bay history. All 483 items on the auction block were purchased.
“Being able to see all the fellow collectors who come in and watch their eyes light up when they see the items that they’ve been fighting for a couple weeks in the auction for — it just really made my day. Being able to hear their stories on why that particular item spoke to them and what they plan on doing with it,” Dugan said.
He added that not only was the auction a great way to raise money for a worthwhile cause, but it also helped out the environment.
“All of these products that we sold, they were destined to go to the landfill… I was, at one point, inside of a dumpster, ankle deep in dumpster liquid, pulling out banners. And one of those banners ended up selling for over $2,000,” Dugan said.
A lot of this, it was plastic material, it was not really recyclable. So being able to save this from the landfill really kind of helped support our mission.
Items included in the auction were original signage, banners, physical parts of the stage façade, unique artifacts used and/or displayed at the draft, photos from inside some of the NFL Experience exhibits and the 80-foot sign that was hung prominently above the main stage throughout the event.
