Efforts to strengthen workforce development in Aguascalientes advanced following the participation of Gabriela Archundia, Director, Industrial Cluster of Aguascalientes (CLIA), in the First Session of the State Linkage Committee of CONALEP. The meeting focused on defining strategic lines for talent development and reinforcing coordination between educational institutions and the productive sector.

The collaboration seeks to align technical education with labor market needs and strengthen the state’s industrial ecosystem. Authorities said the initiative reflects a shared commitment to improving workforce readiness and supporting regional competitiveness.

Building on this coordination, CLIA’s participation focused on the Labor, Social and Support Linkage Commission, where initiatives include agreements with companies and the strengthening of the dual education model. This approach allows students to gain practical experience in industrial environments while completing their academic training.

The organization is also promoting social engagement initiatives and donations of industrial equipment to improve educational infrastructure. These actions aim to enhance technical training and address talent shortages across industrial sectors. Officials said aligning academic programs with industry requirements can help companies access qualified personnel and support sustained economic development.

Strategic Talent Development for Competitiveness

The expansion of partnerships between companies and educational institutions represents a key factor in strengthening regional competitiveness. Authorities in Aguascalientes said the strategy positions the state as a destination capable of developing technical talent aligned with evolving industrial needs.

Complementing workforce development initiatives, the government of Aguascalientes inaugurated a new artificial intelligence laboratory at the Aguascalientes Center for Science and Technology Studies (CECyTEA) Rincón de Romos campus. The project aims to strengthen digital competencies and expand opportunities for students pursuing careers in technology-driven industries, reported MBN. 

Governor Tere Jiménez said the facility provides access to tools designed to foster innovation, scientific learning and digital literacy. Officials described the laboratory as part of a broader strategy to align educational programs with the demands of a global economy shaped by digital transformation.

The facility enables students to develop skills related to artificial intelligence, applied science and innovation. Authorities said hands-on learning environments help prepare students for emerging industries and support long-term workforce development.

Jorge Saucedo, Director, CECyTEA Rincón de Romos campus, said the laboratory represents an investment in students’ future and in workforce readiness. He added that access to advanced technology can help students develop creativity, innovation and technical competencies.

Alongside the inauguration, authorities recognized student achievements and academic performance, highlighting the role of technology education in expanding opportunities. During the visit, the Owl Turbo Racing Team qualified for the STEM Racing World Finals in Singapore, where students will represent Mexico in international competition.

Nuevo León Expands Digital Inclusion Through Partnerships

While Aguascalientes focuses on technical and artificial intelligence training, Nuevo Leon is advancing digital inclusion through partnerships between government and private-sector organizations. The Ministry of Equality and Inclusion, together with DEACERO and Softtek, inaugurated the Softtek/DEACERO Technology Classroom at the Valle Soleado Community Center.

The initiative aims to expand access to digital tools and training for children, youth, and adults. The classroom includes computers, internet connectivity, and training programs focused on technological skills, logical thinking, and STEAM education.

Fernando Nava, Corporate Sustainability Director, Softtek, said the classroom supports learning opportunities and workforce development. He added that expanding access to technology can contribute to employment opportunities and social mobility.

Collaborative Model for Inclusive Growth

The technology classroom forms part of a broader strategy to promote partnerships between government, business, and community organizations. Authorities said collaboration across sectors can help address digital inequality and strengthen communities. Alicia Núñez, Director, Fundación DEACERO, said access to technology plays a key role in promoting education and employability. Mauricio Canseco, Deputy Minister of Social Investment and Strategic Alliances, said collaboration helps create opportunities for economic growth. Meanwhile, Juan Carlos Meade, Director of Strategic Alliances, added that combining corporate support with public administration supports long-term sustainability.

Program estimates indicate that each technology classroom generates measurable social benefits, reflecting the impact of collaborative development models. Authorities said such initiatives demonstrate how cross-sector partnerships can expand educational access and support inclusive economic growth across Mexico.
