How Local Organizations Are Shaping the Future of Connectivity & Workforce Development With Comcast’s Partnership

In today’s interconnected world, access to technology and reliable internet is no longer a luxury — it’s a necessity. From education to healthcare, workforce development to entrepreneurship, digital literacy is crucial to reach personal and professional goals. Yet for many people, the digital divide still creates barriers to opportunities and resources that could significantly improve their lives.

Across the nation and within our communities, small organizations are stepping up to bridge these gaps. From teaching digital literacy to providing accessible technology, these companies are making an impact in their communities with support from Comcast and programs like Lift Zones, which equips designated areas at organizations and community centers with free and reliable high-speed internet access.

Loveland Digital Navigators: Empowering Community Through Individualized Support

In Loveland, Colorado, the Digital Navigators Program, hosted at the Loveland Public Library, is changing lives one connection at a time. With a judgment-free approach, AmeriCorps Digital Navigators teach digital skills to residents of all ages, including seniors venturing online for the first time, veterans and entrepreneurs pursuing business goals.

On the professional side, Digital Navigators teach learners the skills needed to apply for jobs, like digitizing documents and making online accounts. Digital Navigators also help individuals succeed in their professional roles by teaching them how to use email and various programs across their devices. Now in its second year, the Loveland Digital Navigators have supported more than 1,500 individuals, conducted nearly 3,000 personalized appointments and distributed 150 laptops to those in need. Comcast plays a critical role by providing funding through the Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation, enabling the program to purchase equipment and expand its coverage to digitally underserved audiences like seniors and veterans.

Elevate Utah: Building a Digitally Inclusive Workforce

Elevate Utah, a nonprofit organization originally known as Centro Hispano, is dedicated to building stronger, more inclusive communities through workforce training and digital literacy. Elevate Utah’s mission is to empower and uplift low-income and marginalized communities by helping individuals from all walks of life navigate the digital world. The organization provides programming to teach critical computer and technology skills — from foundational lessons, like turning on a computer and mastering Google Docs, to advanced courses in résumé-building and job-searching.

Elevate Utah teaches digital literacy alongside language skills and trade certifications to prepare learners for meaningful workforce participation and personal growth. The Elevate Utah team also helps people with immediate needs, such as filling out online applications for jobs and housing. Elevate Utah served 18,000 individuals in 2025 alone, with a focus on equipping people for skilled trades, entrepreneurship and technology careers. Recognizing this tremendous impact, Comcast partnered with Elevate Utah to provide support and resources, including funding for additional laptops.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson: Connectivity for Next-Generation Leaders

For more than six decades, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson has offered children and teens a safe space for learning and growth. And for many young people in Tucson, a lack of reliable internet access at home can create barriers to learning. Today, the Boys & Girls Clubs’ focus is on closing the digital divide to help youth achieve academic and career success. Teens at the Clubhouses rely on internet access to complete homework, prepare for college and even draft résumés or apply for jobs. For some, it offers a glimpse into career paths they never previously considered, such as drone technology, podcasting and esports.

In partnership with Comcast, the organization transformed its Clubhouses into Lift Zones that provide high-speed internet to kids and their families. The Clubhouses also use a program called MyFuture, a digital literacy and internet safety platform where kids can earn badges for accomplishments in STEM, art, workforce skills and more. Additionally, Comcast is helping families find affordable, high-speed internet options through its Internet Essentials program.

R4Creating: From Robotics to Real-World Careers

At the crossroads of creativity and cutting-edge technology is R4Creating, a New Mexico-based organization providing students across the state with hands-on opportunities to engage in science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM) while preparing them for successful careers. R4Creating reached 5,000 students with technology programming in 2025 alone.

One of R4Creating’s most impactful programs is their robotics initiative, which provides students with equipment and training to design robots and compete with robots from other teams at the state, national and even international levels. For younger students, the experience focuses on teamwork and problem-solving, while high school participants tackle advanced concepts that prepare them for careers in fields such as engineering and design. With the recent opening of R4Creating’s STEAM Center of Excellence in Rio Rancho, students now have access to even more learning opportunities designed to foster creativity and career readiness. Comcast equipped the center as a Lift Zone through a $30,000 donation, ensuring reliable internet access for students and their families.

These four organizations serve communities across four states with one common goal: equip individuals with the skills and tools needed to succeed in an increasingly digital world. Comcast’s partnerships with these organizations emphasize the power of collaboration to increase digital literacy and create transformative opportunities for businesses, families and individuals.

In addition to supporting community organizations, Comcast is committed to helping businesses thrive in an increasingly digital world. Comcast Business is a leader in business technology, providing advanced network solutions that keep companies connected and ready for what’s next.
