A popular Instagram account known for posting conservative and patriotic photos and captions has been exposed as AI-generated, despite amassing millions of followers.

According to Wired, a 22-year-old based in India, who spoke to the outlet under the pseudonym Sam, is behind the account and used Google Gemini’s Nano Banana Pro to generate content and turn a profit.

When Sam approached Gemini with the idea of creating a “hot girl” social media account, he told Wired that Gemini advised him to avoid creating a generic account and instead target a “MAGA/conservative niche.”

“The conservative audience (especially older men in the U.S.) often has higher disposable income and is more loyal,” Gemini allegedly told Sam, per a transcript shared with the outlet.

Sam went on to create the Instagram account @emily_hart.nurse, building a persona centered on right wing and MAGA-inspired content. The account reportedly featured photos of “Emily Hart” ice fishing, visiting a rifle range, and drinking Coors Light, alongside captions such as, “If you want a reason to unfollow: Christ is king, abortion is murder, and all illegals must be deported.”

Though he has never lived in the United States, Sam said Gemini’s guidance — and his goal of making money to pursue his dreams of being a doctor and moving to the U.S. — helped him become well-versed in the ideology surrounding President Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” campaign.

“Every day I’d write something pro-Christian, pro-Second Amendment, pro-life, anti-abortion, anti-woke, and anti-immigration,” Sam told Wired.

“I was spending maybe 30 to 50 minutes of my day, and I was making good money for a medical student,” Sam told the outlet. “In India, even in professional jobs, you can’t make this amount of money. I haven’t seen any easier way to make money online.”

Within a month, the account reportedly grew to 10,000 followers on Instagram. Sam also expanded to FanVue, a competitor to OnlyFans, claiming he earned several thousand dollars per month through subscriptions and the sale of MAGA-themed T-shirts.

According to the report, tons of similar AI-generated accounts exist online.

Sam also said he used Grok AI to generate nude photos of the fictional Emily, which he uploaded to Fanvue. “I was basically doing nothing,“ he said. “And it was just flooded with money.”

The Instagram account was ultimately banned in February after being flagged for “fraudulent” activity, though its associated Facebook account remains active.
