MEXIA, Texas — A 6-year-old boy in Mexia is in need of open heart surgery, and is raising his own money to make it happen.

6-year-old Tyrus will be running a lemonade stand on Saturday, May 10, hoping to raise money for the procedure to repair a hole in his heart.

Tyrus will be serving lemonade at 1322 E. Milam St. in Mexia beginning at 12 p.m. until sold out. Community members are invited to stop by and purchase a cup to help support him.

Lemonade will reportedly be sold at $3 a cup, and funds will go towards Tyrus’ surgery and recovery.
