QC helps equip MSMEs with digital skills
THE Quezon City government has partnered with TikTok Shop and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI-QC) to equip micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) owners and their staff with tools to compete and grow in the digital economy.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte said Monday the Quezon City Small Business and Cooperatives Development and Promotions Office has teamed up with TikTok Shop and PCCI-QC for hands-on training in e-commerce, digital marketing and live selling.
Participants received step-by-step guidance on setting up accounts, becoming affiliates, and maximizing platform features, including TikTok’s “Yellow Basket,” to promote and sell their products online, Belmonte said.
To ensure targeted learning, participants were grouped into three specialized tracks: product sellers, service providers, and affiliates or content creators.
Product sellers were trained on platform operations and best practices; service providers learned to maximize advertising tools, while affiliates and creators developed skills in content production and live selling.
By combining technical training with real-time onboarding, the program enables MSME participants to launch or enhance their online presence on the spot — expanding their market reach, connecting with broader audiences, and increasing their earning potential.
Belmonte emphasized that the program is part of the city’s Entrepreneurial Development Program (EDP), which continues to build a more competitive and resilient MSME sector through practical, skills-based learning.
Through the EDP, the city government has conducted 130 training sessions, benefiting 6,194 participants, the mayor said.
