The “Selling Photos Online” seminar prioritized security as the foundation for economic independence and personal resilience post-release.
TANGERANG, 8 November 2025 – The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi), through its Center for Digital Literacy Development, held a specialized empowerment program today (8/11) at the Class 1 Tangerang Youth Development Institution (LPKA). The event’s primary focus was on building digital resilience for the youth residents as a crucial life skill.
To lead this critical session, Komdigi assigned Dr. Daniel Susilo, a Digital Literacy Guide (Pandu Digital) who is also widely recognized as an Associate Professor (Lektor Kepala) registered at Universitas Bunda Mulia and active researcher at INTI International University Malaysia with an extensive portfolio of research on digitization and media literacy.
Dr. Susilo’s assignment was pivotal as the core material presented was Digital Security. Although the seminar ran under the practical theme of “Selling Photos Online Using Only a Smartphone,” Dr. Susilo centered his presentation on security as the essential foundation.
“The technical skill of ‘selling photos’ is one thing, but what’s far more important is the ‘security’ behind it,” stated Dr. Susilo. “We cannot just send them into the digital world without a shield. This is the true provision.”
He further explained that the digital security material was specifically designed to build post-rehabilitation resilience. “We are equipping them with the tools to recognize fake news, protect personal data from online predators, and build a positive digital footprint. This is the essential provision they need to be resilient, less prone to exploitation, and able to become productively independent upon their return to society,” he emphasized.
The program, reaffirms Komdigi’s commitment to providing inclusive digital literacy. This initiative is expected to provide tangible life skills, preparing residents to be digitally competent and healthily competitive individuals.
