A male med student racked up millions of followers and made thousands of dollars selling photos and videos of an AI-generated MAGA girl named Emily Hart to “super dumb” men.

The con artist, “Sam,” a 22-year-old Indian studying to be an orthopedic surgeon, told Wired that he came up with the concept to sell AI-generated pictures of a young woman in a bikini while looking for a way to make some money at school.

The idea was fostered by Google Gemini

It didn’t work at first. His random images of beautiful, barely clothed women weren’t registering on Instagram. So he asked Google Gemini for advice. It told him, “If you create a generic ‘hot girl,’ you’re competing with a million other models.”

When he presented Gemini with more specific ideas, the chatbot selected “MAGA/conservative niche,” calling it a “cheat code” because “the conservative audience (especially older men in the U.S.) often has higher disposable income and is more loyal.”

So he created Emily Hart, a “registered nurse” who loves bikinis, guns, and Coors Light. Oh, she was also a big believer in MAGA ideology.

“Every day I’d write something pro-Christian, pro-Second Amendment, pro-life, anti-abortion, anti-woke, and anti-immigration,” Sam told Wired. And it worked.

“Every Reel I posted was getting 3 million views, 5 million views, 10 million views. The algorithm loved it,” he said.

Emily Hart gained over 10,000 Instagram followers in less than a month. Then he opened an account on OnlyFans competitor Fanvue where more people followed.

He made thousands of dollars a month

Sam estimates he was earning a few thousand dollars a month by selling MAGA-themed shirts and Fanvue subscriptions featuring Grok AI-generated nude photos.

“I was spending maybe 30 to 50 minutes of my day, and I was making good money for a medical student,” he said. “In India, even in professional jobs, you can’t make this amount of money. I haven’t seen any easier way to make money online.”

Eventually, Meta banned Emily Hart from Instagram and Facebook, but Sam says he doesn’t regret what he did. “I don’t feel like I was scamming people,” he said.

So why did he target the MAGA crowd and not lefties? It turns out that he did try an AI-generated liberal girl, but “Democrats know that it’s AI slop, so they don’t engage as much.” They did, however, respond to Emily Hunt’s “rage bait,” he said, leaving angry comments.

He also added, “The MAGA crowd is made up of dumb people – like, super dumb people. And they fall for it.”
