True Corporation Public Company Limited (SET: TRUE) in collaboration with Google, announced the launch of “AI for All Thais” for the first time in Thailand. This nationwide initiative aims to democratize access to artificial intelligence education and accelerate the development of Thai talent toward AI excellence, equipping them with future-ready digital capabilities.

The initiative integrates globally aligned AI learning into Thailand’s university education system, covering AI First Citizen, foundational AI learning under Gemini Academy in both offline and online formats with True offering free 10GB data for True and dtac students as well as a special 45-hour credit-bearing course, “AI for Future Workforce”, which can be officially counted toward academic credits. The program will also include AI competitions at both university and national levels.

Bringing together collaboration from all sectors, the initiative combines the private-sector strength of True, which aims to connect AI technology with heart, Google’s global technology leadership, policy support from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), and leading academic institutions nationwide to build a strong AI ecosystem and strengthen Thailand’s long-term competitiveness.

Advancing AI Education Through Credit-Bearing Integration

At the core of the initiative is the launch of AI for Future Workforce, a credit-bearing AI program that can be officially counted toward academic credits and integrated into university curricula. This marks a significant step forward in elevating AI education from awareness-building to real implementation within the education system.

The program will be piloted in collaboration with more than 20 leading universities and subsequently expanded nationwide, creating opportunities for students to gain practical AI knowledge and skills alongside their academic studies. It will also support universities in systematically integrating globally aligned AI learning content into their curricula, with policy support from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI).

Prof. Dr. Yodchanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI)

Prof. Dr. Yodchanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) said that “In an era where technology is rapidly transforming the world, AI workforce development is no longer merely an option, but a ‘national agenda’ that we must accelerate. Thailand continues to face a significant shortage of as many as 80,000 AI professionals, while AI adoption across organizations remains limited. MHESI is therefore committed to serving as a key driving force in turning this challenge into an opportunity. We are ready to fully support and advance this initiative to equip Thais with future-ready digital skills, elevate the learning ecosystem, and prepare our people to compete on the global stage with strength and confidence.”

“The nationwide collaboration taking shape today stands as a powerful testament to the synergy among the government, education sector, and industry. MHESI has a clear goal to concretely integrate AI into educational curricula. We aim to create a comprehensive learning pathway from building strong foundations to cultivating highly skilled specialists in order to develop talent with practical capabilities and real-world readiness. This collective effort not only addresses the needs of today’s labor market, but also lays a strong foundation for Thailand to advance toward a sustainable economy driven by AI innovation in the long term.”, Prof. Dr. Yodchanan said.

Sigve Brekke, Group CEO of True Corporation

Sigve Brekke, Group CEO of True Corporation Plc., said that “Across industries worldwide, global firms consistently agree that the biggest barrier to AI adoption is not technology, but the lack of skills, limiting AI’s full potential. True is moving toward becoming an AI-First organization, with the ambition to build ‘AI for All’, making AI relevant, accessible, and affordable for all Thais, while embedding the principles of responsible AI, with a target to empower 12 million people by 2030.

This starts with our people. This year, all True employees will build a strong foundation in AI. From there, we will continue to deepen their capabilities from applying AI in their daily work to creating AI-driven solutions and innovations that drive real business impact, with the responsible use of AI as a core principle at all levels. Through our partnership with Google, we aim to scale this effort beyond our organization, empowering Thais to become a future-ready workforce in a new landscape reshaped by AI technologies.”

The “AI for All Thais” by True initiative is part of Charoen Pokphand Group’s broader effort to advance Thailand’s AI ecosystem through the CP Center of Excellence (CP-CoE) at True Digital Park. Serving as a hub for Digital & AI and Data Infrastructure, CP-CoE is designed to holistically develop AI knowledge, innovation, and talent by connecting collaboration across the business, technology, and education sectors, with the shared goal of accelerating Thailand’s long-term AI capabilities.

A Multi-Sector Collaboration to Build a National AI Ecosystem

The initiative reflects a strong commitment from all sectors to advance AI learning at a national scale. True leverages its digital infrastructure and nationwide ecosystem to expand access to learning and connect students, institutions, and digital platforms across the country.

Google supports the initiative by providing AI knowledge and curricula designed to equip students with the skills to use Generative AI safely, while enhancing their creativity and productivity through Gemini. The top five winners will gain international exposure through a study visit to Google in Singapore.

Phase II: Special Course “AI for Future Workforce”

A specially designed 45-hour AI curriculum, co-developed by True and Google, aims to build artificial intelligence literacy for the future of work. The course will be integrated into university teaching and learning and can be officially counted toward academic credits. This also includes a Train-the-Trainer program for university instructors, as well as AI competitions at both university and national levels. The four winning teams, comprising 16 participants in total, will also receive the opportunity to join a study visit to Google in Singapore.
